Show the current RadioDJ title on OnAirScreen
RadioDJ can control OnAirScreen natively via the Now Playing Info plugin (Web Export, HTTP GET). The NOW footer line accepts NOW:TEXT.
API reference: OnAirScreen API / UDP / HTTP / MQTT
Plugin tutorial: NOW PLAYING INFO PLUGIN
What OnAirScreen expects
| Channel | Target (default) | Example |
|---|---|---|
| UDP | Port 3310 | NOW:Artist - Title |
| HTTP | Port 8010 | http://<oas-ip>:8010/?cmd=NOW:Artist%20-%20Title |
Optionally the same for the second footer line: NEXT:…. Maximum 500 characters. OnAirScreen does not read the plugin’s text-file export.
On Windows test with oas_send.exe from the OnAirScreen licence:
oas_send.exe --ip 192.168.23.5 "NOW:Artist - Title"
If OnAirScreen runs on the same PC, use 127.0.0.1.
Recommended path: Now Playing → Web Export GET
Options → Plugins → Now Playing Info (or the Now Playing button on the main window) → Web tab (tutorial).
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Enable | on |
| Method | GET (not POST) |
| URL | http://<onairscreen-ip>:8010/?cmd=NOW:$artist_enc$ - $title_enc$ |
$artist_enc$ / $title_enc$ are the URL-encoded forms. Plain $artist$ / $title$ break on spaces and &. Full variable list: RadioDJ\Docs (Stream Variables).
If Custom Data is filled, it replaces the default query. Then either leave Custom Data empty and put everything in the URL, or set URL to http://<onairscreen-ip>:8010/ and Custom Data to cmd=NOW:$artist_enc$ - $title_enc$.
GET (CUSTOM) appends the payload without a ? — only use it if the URL already contains ?cmd=NOW:.
Firewall: TCP 8010.
Songs only
Default Web Export follows Options → Stream Titles per track type. Restrict Stream Titles / plugin enablement to music, or the footer fills with jingles and spots.
Notes
- Replace IPs after 10s and WARN behave as on the other playout howtos (WARN hides NOW/NEXT).
- File Export / serial export cannot feed OnAirScreen directly.
