Show the current Myriad Playout title on OnAirScreen

Myriad Playout 7 (and Myriad 5/6) can control OnAirScreen natively via OCP. The NOW footer line accepts NOW:TEXT.

ON AIR LED from the mixer: Drive LED1 from Myriad Hardware Service.

Same idea for RCS Zetta: Show the current RCS Zetta title on OnAirScreen

API reference: OnAirScreen API / UDP / HTTP / MQTT

What OnAirScreen expects

Channel Target (default) Example
UDP Port 3310 NOW:Artist - Title
HTTP Port 8010 http://<oas-ip>:8010/?cmd=NOW:Artist%20-%20Title
MQTT Topic {base}/text/now/set Payload: Artist - Title

Optionally the same for the second footer line: NEXT:…. Maximum 500 characters.

First check that OnAirScreen shows the title at all. After startup the IP is in the first footer line.

On Linux / macOS:

echo "NOW:Artist - Title" > /dev/udp/<oas-ip>/3310
curl "http://<oas-ip>:8010/?cmd=NOW:Artist%20-%20Title"

On Windows (Myriad runs on Windows) use oas_send.exe from the OnAirScreen license:

oas_send.exe --ip 192.168.23.5 "NOW:Artist - Title"
oas_send-noconsole.exe --ip 192.168.23.5 "NOW:Artist - Title"

If OnAirScreen runs on the same PC as Myriad, use 127.0.0.1 as the target.

In Myriad this lives in OCP (Online Content Processor). Myriad 7 gives OCP a tile-based UI and a JavaScript command language for conditional outputs. The HTTP Get and IP/Serial (UDP) outputs are the integration path — in Myriad 5/6 they belong to OCP Pro.

OCP user guide (v5/v6; the concepts still apply): Myriad OCP User Guide

Option A — HTTP Get (usually the simplest)

Add a new OCP HTTP Get output:

A second output for the upcoming title:

http://<onairscreen-ip>:8010/?cmd=NEXT:<OCP_NEXT_ARTISTNAMES> - <OCP_NEXT_ITEMTITLE>

OCP replaces the tags with live data. Common tags (confirm in the Format Creator of your OCP version):

Tag Meaning
<OCP_NOW_ARTISTNAMES> Artist, now
<OCP_NOW_ITEMTITLE> Title, now
<OCP_NEXT_ARTISTNAMES> Artist, next
<OCP_NEXT_ITEMTITLE> Title, next

Older docs sometimes use <OCP_NOW_ITEMNAME> and <OCP_NOW_ARTISTS>. The Format Creator lists the aliases your version actually supports.

OCP must URL-encode spaces, &, and non-ASCII characters. If titles arrive truncated, check encoding in the HTTP output options. Firewall: allow TCP 8010 to the OnAirScreen host.

Option B — UDP (IP/Serial)

Add an IP/Serial output, protocol UDP:

No HTTP encoding needed. Firewall: allow UDP 3310 to the OnAirScreen host.

Songs only, not jingles

Otherwise station IDs and beds land in the footer. In Myriad 7, restrict the output to songs with the OCP JavaScript language — or with the older conditional tags, for example:

[(<OCP_NOW_ITEMTYPE>=Song)NOW:<OCP_NOW_ARTISTNAMES> - <OCP_NOW_ITEMTITLE>]

Exact syntax is in the Format Creator / OCP docs for your version.
